Whenever I travel, I seek out design shops with unique souvenirs. I want to bring home things crafted by local talents. Things that carry a piece of the city's essence. Barcelona has some of the most unique artisanal shops. These are my favorite ones.

It is the sweetest store in the El Born neighborhood. Here, you will find a curated selection of things for the modern lifestyle: from creative toys for the little ones to stylish homeware, and funky bags and accessories. They focus on quality and design offering you a vision for a brighter life. Part of their DNA is analogue photography. So, this is the place if you are into Polaroids and analogue cameras.

It is one of the oldest and one of the biggest Barcelona's design concept stores. Founded by a couple of enthusiasts, Iu and Estrela, it became a center o attraction for some of the best Barcelona’s talents. Here, you will find all kind of fun stuff: decorative objects, gifts, illustrations, and clothing.

It is a small gallery and store specializing in emerging art and graphic work. The magic of this place begins with their showcase. Each month an invited local illustrator creates a new bespoke image on the glass. In their store, you will find rare and original designs, edgy and risky. Besides graphic works, they have a very excited collection of ceramics, accessories, and the most beautiful illustrated books.

A store from the Barcelona-based Hey creative studio which became famous for bold, brightly-colored designs. Playful, geometrical, typographical, their works energize and bring new colors into your life. I adore their posters, books, and tote bags. They also have a very nice line of clothes with their designs.

A small local chain with several stores around the city center. My favorite location is by the Basílica de Santa Maria del Pi. Most of their designs are Barcelona-themed. They offer a great range of cute home goodies, gifts, accessories, postcards, notebooks and more.
