Barcelona is my hometown, a place I come back to recharge and meet friends. A fun brunch together is a great way to reconnect. This is a list of my favorite brunch spots in town.

They have several locations in Barcelona, but my favorite one is in Eixample neighborhood. It has a small garden with two chickens named after the owner’s sisters. It sounds like a mean joke, but the waiter once told me that the owner actually loves chickens more than the employees. The menu includes many classic brunch dishes like eggs benedict and chakchouka. Plus, it has many vegan options. I recommend you try their delicious vegan oat pancakes with syrup and fruits. It is a beautiful, health-conscious meal.

The Garden Brunch

It is a very Instagrammable spot with whimsical pink décor and a lot of flowers. Unlike most of the brunch restaurants located in Eixample or downtown, this place is close to the Glòries station in Sant Martí. It is a business neighborhood with lots of good accommodation. And the Garden Brunch is the place you shouldn't miss if you decide to stay around that area. This restaurant is popular: so, it is better to make a reservation before going. The menu has all the brunch classics. I love this place for the teas with the most unusual combinations and colorful matcha lattes.

It is a sweet and cozy place decorated with flowers and flooded in pink. I like this restaurant because it is the only brunch spot that serves my favorite churros. Besides churros, I recommend trying their berry pancakes with cheesecake-flavored cream cheese. The place is almost never crowded and is nice for a romantic date or a gathering of friends. It is also pet-friendly. I like stopping by when I walk my dog to have a glass of mimosa and some sweet treats.

Located close to the Picasso Museum in El Born, it is an elegant place with an intimate atmosphere. Here, they pay attention to details: the plating is always exquisite. The blueberry lemon pancakes with coconut cream are a work of art. I love how cozy this place is. Me and my friends come here for our special girls' brunch of gossip and espresso martinis. But keep in mind, they don’t take reservations, and there are usually queues on the weekends.
