This small family-owned winery is run by a father and son, Pere and Guifre. They give the tours of the place themselves sharing their passion and anecdotes and making a visit here exceptionally personal. My favorite part is their generous tasting. Guests are treated to four different cava tastings (read: basically, full glasses), accompanied by "pica pica" platter with cheeses, honey, olives, and fuet (cured Catalan meat).

Prices: Very affordable. On average — just 6 euros for a bottle. To book the tour: reach out to Guifre via email at guifre@solaraventos.com or fill out the tour request form on their website (www.solaraventos.com).

This winery dates back to 1881, making it one of the oldest producers of sparkling wines in the region. It is famous for the commitment to traditions. The place offers a variety of tours which will help you to better understand the winemaking process. One of the highlights is a visit to their historic cellar.

Price: On a pricey side. A bottle usually starts at 19 Euros. To book a tour: visit their official website (gramona.com) or contact them directly (visita@gramona.com).

Run by a husband-and-wife duo, Finca Batlori is located on the outskirts of Sant Sadurní d’Anoia, 5-7 minutes’ drive from the train station. To get their grab a local taxi. The winery has an unusual architecture resembling a castle. The best part here is that the place has an awe-inspiring 180-degree views of the vineyards and the stunning landscape.

Price: Average. Starting from 9 Euros for a bottle) To book a tour: visit their website (www.fincabatllori.com).

Restaurants

Cal Ticus

Their menu includes traditional dishes from Catalonia. The highlight is the ‘menu del dua’ they have (20-25 Euros for a person). My visit to Cal Ticus is never complete without their famous crema catalana (creamy dessert similar to a crème brûlée). The added bonus is that Guifre (from Solà Raventós) can help you secure a reservation.

The restaurant is just a 5-minute stroll from Gramona. It is located in a historic building dating back to 1905. You will see the numbers on the façade. They offer the traditional Catalonian cuisine adapted to the new cutting-edge lines. You can choose ‘menu del dia’ for a more curated dining experience or try one of their top-chef ‘a la carte’ options.

Mirador de les Caves

Located across the street from Finca Batllori, it is a choice for a breathtaking panorama. The name, "Mirador de les Caves," translates to "Overlooking the Cava Vineyards" in Catalan. The vista encapsulates the essence of the region and makes your visit even more memorable. The menu is a celebration of Catalan cuisine's diversity and there’s something for everyone as you explore the menu.
