Girls' Night Out in Barcelona

Places to have fun with your friends

About this guide

I live in Barcelona and often hang out with my friends. We have seen numerous places from fancy bars to simple diners. So, I have picked out my favorite ones for this list. Here, you will find spots to party hard and blow off steam on the dancefloor. As well as hidden gems to sit down, talk about life, and gossip. Enjoy the night, and allow yourself to get tipsy, but watch for each other, especially if you don't speak Spanish, for everyone to get home safely.

Farola

Farola is an energetic cocktail bar in El Born. It is trying to connect locals, tourists, and expats living in Barcelona. So, expect a multicultural crowd. I like this place for their creative cocktails. My favorite one is Guilty Pleasure with vanilla vodka, Frangelico liquor, apricot, and cava. If you don't drink, they have a few non-alcoholic options as well. They are also famous for their amazing DJ sets. That is their thing: they invite some of the best musicians in Barcelona. The place is tiny, but it has a nice terrace and great chill-out vibes.

Boca Chica

đź«’ To feel special

It is a fancy cocktail bar close to the Passeig de Gracia, the main shopping street in Barcelona. The interior is chic and kind of old-style pretentiousness, with Moroccan carpets, framed mirrors, and two huge elephant tusks behind the bar. It also has a small but super cozy terrace on the rooftop. It is a place to feel sophisticated, to enjoy nice appetizers, to chat and laugh. But it is quite pricey. So, I’d recommend going here for a special occasion, like a birthday or a bachelorette party. But don’t forget to make a reservation. On weekends, you won’t get inside, especially to the rooftop, without a reservation.

From 10 am to 3 pm, this place works as a brunch restaurant where you can get a cup of great specialty coffee. And from 7 till midnight, it is a wine bar and cozy restaurant perfect for a girls' night out. They have a great selection of wines with a preference for natural wines from local Catalonian producers. If you don’t know what to order, don’t hesitate to ask the waiters. The staff here always takes its time to explain everything about the wines. The dinner menu includes many delicate options with interesting flavor combinations. You can try here steak tartare (raw ground beef, well spiced, with an egg and parmesan cheese) or crudo de gambas (raw shrimps) with yuzu (a type of tangerine). Classical tapas are also on the menu. It is an uplifting place to discuss fresh gossip.

Masa Vins

It's the most aesthetic wine bar I have ever seen and the perfect place for a girls' night out. Masa Vins is a very cozy and unpretentious place that feels like a regular Spanish kitchen, with shelves lined up with jars of grains and spices and bundles of herbs hanging along the walls. A quirky detail: they have a vinyl recorder playing music in the corner. It is a place where you feel relaxed, and it already says a lot. You can enjoy their huge selection of natural wines while savoring delicious tapas. Order a whole bottle to share with your friends, or take it by the glass to try a bit of everything. The menu covers classical snacks like sandwiches, patatas braves, olives, and nuts.

🌌 To dance the night

This is more like a “pregame” bar, a place to start the night of drinking to move to an actual bar later. They have plenty of beer, great cocktails, nice music, and a dance floor to get your groove on. Their staple is chicken wings, but they have vegan nuggets as well, if you prefer. I love their thematic nights. Every Thursday, you get karaoke. Fridays are for stand-up. Sundays – beer pong and disco. Plus, epic Halloween parties. It is a fun place to chunk the alcohol and bust some moves.

33/45

It is the coolest bar I have ever been to. 33/45 is located in the middle of El Raval neighborhood. I wouldn’t say that this area is any more dangerous than the rest of Barcelona, but lately, it has got a bad reputation. So, watch your belongings. The place has very chill industrial vibes with retro TVs and contemporary art on the walls. Snacks and drinks are Mexican-themed. So, you get your tequilas and mezcals, nachos, tacos, guacamoles, and chilaquiles. Keep in mind that this place is always full. So, you probably will have to stand in line to get inside (which is normal in Barcelona). Plus, the street 33/45 is on has many other bars to hop into afterward.

Antic Teatre

It is a cozy place with a beautiful garden. Antic Teatre is a non-profit organization that hosts theater nights, live music, and contemporary dance performances. But it also has the cutest bar. It was kind of a hidden gem until everyone told about it on TikTok. The bar is an intimate place with a huge tree in the middle lit up by magical lights. I come here for the atmosphere. But they have nice drinks cheaper than in many other places and delicious tapas.
