Barcelona has some great running options. Every route is a journey through architectural marvels, lush parks and seafront vistas. Clock miles surrounded by stunning views. But remember to protect yourself from the city’s intense heat: always stay hydrated and wear a cap or bandana. And as you lace up your running shoes, remember the golden rule: “Always look up!”.
Montjuïc

The historic Montjuïc Hill is the site of numerous botanic gardens and museums. It offers beautiful panoramic views of Barcelona's port, the Mediterranean Sea, and the picturesque coastline. The route is a great way to feel the athletic history. You’ll run past Barcelona’s Olympic area created to host the 1992 Summer Olympic Games.

Head for a seaside run. The route goes along the beach, past the Museum of Catalonia and fancy hotels. This area is full of cozy cafes and tapas bars where you can rest after the exhilarating run. I recommend a refreshing acai bowl - the perfect reward for your seaside achievements.
Parc de la Ciutadella, Arc de Triomf and El Born

Distance – 4 km / 2,5 miles Type – flat, paved loop Starting Point - La Gamba ()
Run in the center of Barcelona. This route goes through the Parc de la Ciutadella – the Catalan counterpart to Central Park. Then, follow the main promenade to the Arc de Triomf. And in the end, wind through the historic El Born district, famous for its narrow streets and gothic architecture.
Gaudí Classics

This is the ultimate architectural run through the heart of Barcelona. It traces the genius of Antoni Gaudí showcasing some of his most masterpieces including Casa Batlló and Casa Milà, La Pedrera. Ascend Passeig de Gràcia and loop around La Sagrada Familia, a masterpiece in progress.

Distance – 6,85 km / 4,2 miles Type – hilly, dirt road, out-and-back
The trail goes on the hillside of the Tibidabo Mountain providing great views of the city and the Mediterranean. This route is recommended either in the morning or in the evening to avoid the intense heat. To arrive, hitch a taxi ride or catch a bus. Then, from the parking lot you will need to walk up the incline to reach the beginning of the trail.
