About this guide

My name is Domi, and I am a coffee addict. This is a list of my favorite specialty coffee places. They all are located in my favorite Barcelona’s neighborhood – Fort Pienc, close to the iconic Arc de Triomf. This neighborhood is located close to many popular attractions. I have been living here for many years, and it feels like I know every corner. That is why I decided to make this list.

It is a great specialty coffee place just a few steps away from Arc de Triomf. Every year, it wins all kinds of awards for best coffee shop and best baristas in Barcelona. They really know the coffee they are selling. So, don’t be afraid to ask if you can’t decide what to order. My special recommendation: try their matcha latte. The owner is Japanese, and they do it from beans shipped directly from Japan. The place is also famous for their homemade tiramisu. Overall, it is a very chill place that actually does good coffee and not just talks about it.

Named after the owners, three guys by the same name Mark, it is a modern and minimalist place. You will find here a great selection of beans from different corners of Latin America and Africa. I admire this place because they have a kalista wave brew, which is quite rare for Barcelona. Three Marks are locally famous roasters. So, you can buy one of their roasts at the café and ask to ground it for you to take from Barcelona as a souvenir. Upstairs, they have a small space you can work from.

It is a coffee shop with a creative studio around it. Coffee is great + nice food options. I like their banana bread and delicious avocado toasts. Besides coffee, there is a small artsy bookstore where you can find some of the rare books. They also sell ceramics from a local artisan. You can check their Instagram before going: there is a community around this place, and they often organize things like book club meetings or tarot card sessions. In my humble experience, it is a very good place for the first date: lots of topics for conversation all around you.

A tiny place that charms you with its care and thoughtfulness. You can call it a brunch restaurant or a home-comfort type of café with great coffee. I like that they do not just have any vegan and vegetarian options; they have a lot of them. So, you really have something to choose from. They make their own pastry. My favorites are pau au chocolate and light and delicious macaroons. Plus, an extra good thing: unlike most coffee shops, they open early on the weekends, at 8:30. So, it is a good place to stop by on Sunday morning before heading into the city.

It is a nice, cozy place to hang out indoors or on the outdoor terrace. Coffee is always on point. They have a lot of healthy options. You should try their kombucha cocktails: they are amazing. The place is centered around the support of local communities. On the weekends, they often have live music sessions or other types of events. You can just stop by for a cup of coffee, and it will be great. But you understand the true beauty of this place when you live beside and become a part of this community.
