Sunset Viewpoints

Spots to watch the sunset

About this guide

In Barcelona, there are many corners where you can enjoy beautiful sunsets with the city at your feet. These are some of my favorite places.

Horta Swing

A magical spot to watch the sunset away from the city's hustle and bustle. In addition to spectacular views of the city, you can enjoy Barcelona from a magical swing. To get to the swing, go to Mirador d’Horta. A few meters from the parking you will see a blue sign with a dirt path leading uphill. The path will lead you to the swings.

Tibidabo boasts being the highest point in the city, ensuring panoramic views at any time of the day. Sunset is a magical moment to visit. You'll see how the city gradually lights up. You can enjoy the views from its famous amusement park, located next to the viewpoint, or from the Temple of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

This location is a must for all locals and travelers exploring the city. A viewpoint with spectacular views near the famous Park Güell. The ideal plan is to prepare a picnic and watch as the Barcelona sky turns pink. However, you'll need to go early as it's a quite popular spot.

Montjuïc

Another elevated point in the city with many attractions like the MNAC (National Art Museum of Catalonia), Montjuïc Castle, the cable car, the Magic Fountain... It's undoubtedly a must-visit in the city. I suggest exploring all its tourist spots and staying for the golden hour. A good spot is the steps of the Museum; from there, you'll see a beautiful sunset accompanied by the music of street artists.

An ideal terrace to enjoy Barcelona from above is the 360º Terrace at the Barceló Raval hotel. A perfect spot for cocktails with friends and good music, offering wonderful views of the city. From there, you can contemplate the entire Barcelona, and undoubtedly, sunset is the best time to visit. The viewpoint is open from 11 am to 1 am.

There's nothing more magical than watching a sunset by the sea. Barceloneta Beach is a good place to end the day, well-connected, and if the weather is good, you can enjoy the sunset while taking a swim. Find a spot near the iconic Hotel W; from there, you'll see how the clouds and pink tones reflect on the building.

One of the most special places in Barcelona and a city essential. This work by Gaudí, besides leaving you amazed, offers beautiful views of the city due to its elevated position. I advise visiting in the afternoon and heading to the Nature Square at sunset; you'll see how beautiful the city looks.
