My name is Gabby. I'm a WSET (Wine & Spirit Education Trust) level-3 graduate with many years of experience working in the wine industry. I run my own company, which organizes wine-tasting experiences in Barcelona and vineyard visits to the Catalonian countryside. I've made a list of my favorite wine stores (bodegas) in Barcelona. Bodegas are the easiest way for you to get in touch with the local wine culture. Below, you will find some of the best places to pop corks, share laughs, and discover excellent wines.
General Tips
🤝 Don't be afraid to ask for help! All the wine stores have experienced, English-speaking staff who will be happy to explain the nuances to you and help you find the perfect bottle. 🕓 Check the working hours before going. Most of the wine stores in Barcelona have a siesta break and are closed from around 2 until 5 pm. 🎁 Consider buying a bottle of wine as a souvenir. Wine is the essence of Catalonia. A bottle of reds of Priorat or whites from Penedès will be the perfect way to commemorate your visit.

A must-visit place with a huge selection of wines. They are the largest wine importer and distributor in Europe. Here, you will have a chance to explore wines from all over the world. They have two locations in Barcelona. I prefer the more atmospheric one, on Carrer dels Agullers, in the heart of El Born. It is also a gourmet store with hundreds of cheeses, hams, and exclusive goodies to accompany your wine selection. I recommend to try their pan con tomate, the best in town.

Great wine selection for reasonable prices. You will find here rare vintages and plenty of interesting international wines. I recommend their wine tastings on Fridays and Saturdays. Started a while ago, over time, they turned into rituals with a fun community around them. It is a chance to meet other wine enthusiasts and discover some new flavors.

The best wine store for Catalan wines. I used to work here. The store is cozy and modern. It is divided into regions, so finding what you’re looking for is easy. I recommend checking their Instagram before going. Every week or so, they invite wine manufacturers to host tastings.

Nice neighborhood wine shop with an in-store wine bar where you can peacefully sit down and enjoy a glass or two accompanied by delicious tapas. It is run by two of my friends. Every Tuesday, they have a Stranger Wines event where they bring some of the most exotic wines to introduce customers to different flavors and inspire them to explore.

Located in Gràcia, this wine store is well-known for its lively parties. It's only open until 9pm, but who knows what happens when the Champagne starts flowing?! Old-school, with a charming, a little rustic atmosphere, it is a nice place to have a couple of glasses and savor delicious appetizers.

This newest wine store in Gràcia specializes in natural wines. It is the latest trend, which actually brings the industry back to its roots. Natural wines are made from unadulterated fermented grape juice and nothing else. Rafa, the owner, has been in the wine industry forever. He distributes his own natural wines as well as others. Rafa is a super cute and nice person; ask him to show you the trendiest wines of the season. But beware of his charm; do not buy more than 4 boxes in one day 😉.

This place has interesting and different wines you don't often see. You will find here very rare and expensive bottles as well as cheap quality wine. It is open only weekdays for wine by the glass at very good prices. They also specialize in group tastings. It's a great place to meet friends and sample new wines served with fresh and tasty tapas.
