To get to the basilica, go to Sagrada Familia metro station. The general entrance is located on the Nativity Façade, on the Carrer de la Marina. We recommend buying skip-the-line tickets in advance to avoid the lines. You can choose between a regular ticket or a ticket with access to one of the basilica’s towers (we recommend ascending to the Passion Tower to see Barcelona Cathedral and the Montjuic Hill). You can also buy a ticket to Sagrada Familia as an option with Barcelona Pass, but it also needs a booked timeslot. It is best visiting the Basilica early in the morning, from 9:00 to 11:00, when the crowds are not so bad.

The best views of the basilica are from two parks situated next to it. Plaça de Gaudí is located in front of the Nativity façade, where the main entrance to the basilica is. It has a nice pond and allows you to capture the sand castle-like church together with its reflection in the water. Plaça de la Sagrada Família is on the opposite side. It has a nice alley of trees, which opens up directly to the basilica.

The Sagrada Família, envisioned by Antoni Gaudí, dominates Barcelona's skyline, aspiring to be the tallest church globally upon completion. A 130-year ongoing project, it's not just a basilica, but an architectural marvel attracting five million visitors annually. The interior is a blend of modernista style and conventional gothic themes, resembling a colossal jigsaw puzzle where each architect’s style harmoniously meshes with Gaudí's original vision. The ethereal play of light within creates a serene yet celebratory ambiance, making every visit a unique experience.

La Sagrada Familia, a masterpiece by Antoni Gaudi, is a must-see. The intricate architecture speaks volumes, with each turret and facade telling a unique story. Besides its stunning aesthetics, it's a hub of spirituality, welcoming everyone irrespective of their faith. Don't miss Gaudi's crypt, and if possible, ascend a tower for a panoramic city view. Its grandeur and profound spiritual aura make it a transcendental experience.

Gaudi's magnum opus, the project he spent more than 40 years of his life on. The basilica is still in construction. There is a small park in front of the main façade where you can take nice snaps of the soaring towers. But don’t miss an opportunity to capture the symphony of light that is the interior. Columns, intricate carvings, stained-glass windows create breathtaking visuals. Book your tickets in advance to avoid disappointment.
